Summer is a great time to appreciate Talbot County’s agricultural heritage and the people who keep it alive. Our farms and open spaces have shaped this community for generations, and they continue to play an important role today.
Whether you’re picking up fresh produce at a farmers market, visiting the County Fair, or just enjoying the view across a field, you’re part of that story. Let’s remember the value of preserving our farmland and supporting local growers, not just in July, but all year long.
As we mark Talbot250, it’s the perfect time to honor these traditions and reflect on how far we’ve come as a community. It’s also a chance to celebrate our volunteer fire departments, whose service and commitment have helped keep our towns and farms safe for generations.

Speaker Series: The Invention of Colonial Williamsburg, Presented by Talbot Historical Society
Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, is the most studied 18th-Century town in the world. This illustrated lecture will cover the founding and growth of this vast historical resource. What drove the recovery of the town? What changes have been made over the last 95 years? What sorts of insights can Williamsburg’s archaeology, architecture, material culture, and history give us. This talk is about peering into the seeds of Time.

This museum preserves Talbot County’s agricultural history with restored farm buildings, historic tools, and exhibits about early canning and rural life. It’s a great place to explore how past generations lived and worked!

 As we reflect on the many ways our community is preserving and celebrating our shared history, we are proud to highlight the incredible work happening across our region.
