United for Libraries Presents: #DefendBlackHistory Storytelling Workshop - December 13*
Wednesday, December 13; 7 - 8:30 p.m.
Get equipped with the tools you need to show up confidently at your local school board and city council meetings to share your story. Participants will learn how to craft their narrative, address the issues at stake, and demand more for our students from their local school boards.
There will also be special opening remarks by Rashad Robinson, Color Of Change president, and Becky Pringle, president of the National Education Association, at both free, 90-minute virtual events.

Maryland State Archives presents: The Patuxent Watershed: Maryland's Natural Wonder - December 14*
Thursday, December 14; 1 - 2 p.m.
Join resource expert Ralph Eshelman for a highly illustrated talk highlighting some of the lesser-known facets about the Patuxent River, the longest intrastate river in Maryland. Please join us for a virtual field trip learn about one of the state’s true treasures.

As book challenges intensify nationwide, MLA's Intellectual Freedom Panel invites you to join us for five new discussions regarding censorship. We will focus on a specific book, article, or video for each discussion, examining current concerns in freedom of access and expression. Please note that these discussions will not be recorded, and that no continuing education credits will be granted. Discussions will be held via MLA Connect (registration required).
