 School Air Quality Fellowship
The Center for Green Schools is accepting applications for the 2026–2027 School Air Quality Fellowship. This nine-month program provides K–12 public school district staff with training, technical assistance, peer networking, and access to professional credentials. Staff working in facilities and operations, environmental health, finance, sustainability, school nursing/health services, or indoor air quality are encouraged to apply to strengthen their district's indoor air quality initiatives. Applications are due tomorrow, July 17th.
 CalAIM & Enhanced Care Management
The California School-Based Health Alliance offers a toolkit on CalAIM and Enhanced Care Management (ECM) to help educators, healthcare partners, students, and families understand and access coordinated, whole-person care. The toolkit explains what ECM is, who is eligible, and how it can be implemented in school settings. The County of San Diego also provides resources to increase access to ECM and community support services for eligible families, schools, and community organizations.
 San Pasqual Academy Community Meetings
San Pasqual Academy is a residential school for foster youth and provides education, long-term placement, independent living skills training, work-readiness programs, and a supportive environment. As the County explores the Academy's future and how it can best serve children and families, partners and community members are invited to attend one of the upcoming community meetings in July or share their feedback online.

 School Vaccine Resources for Caregivers
CDPH provides parents and guardians with resources, guidance, and tools to help navigate school and childcare immunization requirements. Review the guide to learn about required school vaccinations to help keep students and the school community safe and protected. Additionally, CDPH offers a Back-to-School Action Plan that provides resources on school vaccine requirements, including key messages, parent and clinician guides, and tools to help families and school communities understand the importance of childhood vaccinations.

Mosquito Prevention
Mosquitoes collected during routine monitoring near San Carlos have tested positive for West Nile virus, the first detection of the virus in San Diego County mosquitoes this year. Community members can help prevent mosquito bites by following the County’s Prevent, Protect, Report guidelines. Type 1 Diabetes Toolkit
The National Association of School Nurses offers a Type 1 Diabetes Awareness Toolkit that helps school nurses and school leaders educate parents and caregivers about Type 1 diabetes and available screening options. The toolkit includes evidence-based resources, practical outreach and education materials, helpful parent/caregiver handouts, and communication tools to engage families and communities.

The San Diego DEA is hosting an in-person Educator Summer Academy on July 23 and August 6 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM for middle and high school staff. Participants will hear from local experts about current youth challenges, including online safety, drug trends, prevention strategies, and community resources.  Environmental Justice Workgroup Recruitment
Member applications for the Environmental Justice Workgroup are now open! This advisory group, led by the County of San Diego Office of Sustainability and Environmental Justice, advances climate and community-driven solutions. Participants will have the opportunity to inform government climate initiatives, connect with people in the community, and help shape meaningful regional change. The workgroup is open to residents, including youth ages 16-24. Members will receive a $150 stipend per meeting. Learn more about the workgroup at virtual information sessions on July 21 and August 11, 2026, from 4:30 - 5:00 PM. The workgroup application is due on Monday, August 31st.

Tijuana River Economic Impacts Study
The County of San Diego is conducting a Tijuana River Sewage Crisis Economic Impact Study to understand how ongoing sewage contamination, beach closures, and pollution have affected local communities, businesses, schools, and public costs. Residents, workers, and community members living near the Tijuana River are encouraged to participate and share their experiences.
