YOUTH SECTOR ANNOUNCEMENTS

ARTS Internships

A Reason to Survive (ARTS) is now accepting applications for their internship program in Advancement, Community Arts, Operations, People & Culture, and Programs.

Applicants must currently be enrolled in an academic internship program or field/work experience through their college or university! Applications are due by January 26th, 2026.

Hope & Justice Art Contest Prompt: What I Wish My Parent(s) and Other Adults Knew

Create a film, podcast, or art piece about what you wish your parents (or other adults) knew about the warning signs of suicide, what life is like as a young person today, or the importance of supporting youth mental health. Entries are due by January 31st, 2026!

Teen Dating Violence Committee Open Art Call

The San Diego Teen Dating Violence Committee is looking for a new logo! Teens in San Diego County are invited to submit artwork that represents healthy relationships, teen dating, and community wellness. Visit the submission form for more information! Submissions are due February 1st, 2026!

Mission Trails Eco Ambassadors Spring 2026

Mission Trails Regional Park Foundation invites high school students in San Diego County to apply for its Eco Ambassadors program! Nature enthusiasts will learn about different aspects of Mission Trails, environmental stewardship, and fields & careers related to nature and conservation.

Apply by February 1st, 2026!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Parade & Celebration

Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy with a community celebration and parade! The parade will take place starting at 9AM, followed by community activities and entertainment at 11AM.

Alpine Watershed Warriors

Join I Love a Clean San Diego and the County of San Diego for a litter cleanup! Volunteers will divert litter from watersheds and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean. Visit the event page to learn more!

National Youth Heart Screening Day

Free heart screening is available for youth ages 12-25 to identify risk factors for sudden cardiac arrest. Walk-ins are welcome, but youth are encouraged to register to secure a spot! Visit the event page for additional information.

Sakura Community Art Exhibit: Call For Artists

Submit original artwork inspired by the Japanese Friendship Garden's cherry blossom trees for a chance to have your art featured at the 2026 Cherry Blossom Festival!

Park Beautification Volunteer Project

Join Park Rangers for a series of park-cleanup events! Volunteers will perform trash pickup, tree care, light landscaping, and native mulch spreading.
