 Stress Free Holiday Month Panel
Join the LWSD East Region Behavioral Health Solutions Workgroup on December 18th from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at 367 N Magnolia Ave, Magnolia Room, El Cajon, CA, for an engaging panel discussion.
This brief, supportive panel will help our community manage holiday stress by sharing practical tips, coping strategies, and resources for a calmer, healthier season. Refreshments will be provided. Our five panelists—David R. Shorey, KellyAnne Rodriguez, Kenya Taylor, Vivian Hidalgo, and Wilford B. Smith Jr.—will offer valuable insights and practical strategies to support community well-being during the holidays.

NEW! Holiday Toy Drive
La Mesa Spring Valley School District’s Education Foundation is collecting new, unwrapped toys for children aged 0 - 18 to support LMSV children and families in need beginning Monday, December 1st through Friday, December 12th. Drop off locations: La Mesa Branch Library (8074 Allison Ave, La Mesa, CA 91942), Casa de Oro Branch Library (9805 Campo Rd #180, Spring Valley, CA 91977), & La Mesa City Hall (8130 Allison Ave, La Mesa, CA 91942). Also accepting monetary donations to Monie's Food Pantry that goes directly to LMSV families.

NEW! Behavioral Health Services Act Community Planning Ad-Hoc Subcommittee
San Diego County community members are invited to join a temporary subcommittee supporting the Community Planning Process and outreach for the 2026–2029 Integrated Plan. Participants will help develop community education efforts, review draft materials, recommend outreach strategies, and support district-specific presentations. Virtual meetings will run from January to April/May 2026.
Interested? Submit the by Saturday, January 3, 2026.

Getting Dental Care for Seniors highlights why your oral health is important and how taking care of your mouth helps you prevent pain and infection, eat the healthy foods you love, speak and smile with confidence, and keep feeling good as you age. It also explains how poor oral health is linked to heart disease, stroke, lung disease, diabetes, and oral cancer. Community health centers in San Diego provide medical care, dental care, mental health care, and so much more.

Health Consumer Alliance (HCA) Medi-Cal Changes for Adult Immigrants in 2026 and 2027
Good News: Medi-Cal is NOT changing for many people! These people can keep Medi-Cal with dental and no premiums, regardless of immigration status:

Children (under 19 years old)

Current and former foster youth (under 26 years old)

Pregnant and post-pregnancy people (up to one year after the end of pregnancy)

Are you turning 65? Do you have Medicare questions?
JAR Insurance offers free assistance to individuals turning 65 who have questions about Medicare. Licensed insurance agents are available to help with enrollment, understanding Parts A, B, C, and D, avoiding penalties, and meeting important deadlines. Services are provided at no additional cost. Support is also available in Spanish.

Join Navigating Change!
Navigating Change helps youth (ages 16–22) with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities and their families with guidance through the transition to adulthood. Work 1:1 with a Navigator for ongoing guidance, connection with peers, access to virtual trainings, and help with resources for school, work, housing, and more.

Community Vaccination Services
The County of San Diego contracts with community agencies to provide vaccines and make sure they are available to everyone, no matter their insurance status.
No-cost mobile vaccine services are available for community vaccine events, school-located vaccine events, and in-home vaccinations for those who qualify.
