Temporary ramp closures scheduled for Interstate 75 in Fayette County
Closures are necessary for testing and evaluation of safety equipment
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 6, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that ongoing work for a highway safety project will require nighttime Interstate 75 off-ramp closures in Fayette County next week. The closures are necessary to test and evaluate equipment installed in September for wrong-way vehicle detection and monitoring. The goal of the project, which was announced in February, is to prevent wrong-way driving crashes on high-crash interstate systems. Mainline traffic on I-75 will not be affected.

Sunday, Dec. 8 through Monday, Dec. 9 – 6 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday
- the Winchester Exit 110 NB (milepoint 110) and Winchester Exit 110 SB (milepoint 110) Off Ramps will be closed
Monday, Dec. 9 through Tuesday, Dec. 10 – 8 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday
- the Athens-Boonesboro Exit 104) SB (milepoint 104) and Old Richmond Road Exit 99 NB (milepoint 99) Off Ramps will be closed
Tuesday, Dec. 10 through Wednesday, Dec. 11 – 8 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday
- the Man O War Boulevard Exit 108 NB (milepoint 108) Off Ramp will be closed
All work and/or closures are subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
District 7 includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties.
