Each week, the Metro Office of Planning creates a report listing all new land use applications in Jefferson County. These typically include requests for changes in zoning, conditional use permits, landscape plans, waivers, and more. The report also includes a list of revised submittals. While there aren't any new cases in our district this week, there is a revised plan regarding a conditional use permit for a pickleball center located at 4109 Simcoe Lane. Please let me know if you have questions about that case or any others mentioned in the report.
Earlier this week in our Public Safety Committee, we had the opportunity to honor those in local law enforcement who work so hard to keep our communities safe. This included recognizing Officers and Rookies of the Year for all eight LMPD Divisions, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, and Metro Department of Corrections. If you'd like to thank an officer during Law Enforcement Appreciation Month, I hope the ideas listed above will help. The Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet, Solid Waste Management Services, and the Waste Management District are partnering for a tire collection event to be held October 1-3. Any Kentucky resident or business may participate with the exception of tire retailers, scrap/salvage yards, and recycling facilities. Click here for more information about this event that will help keep unwanted tires out of our neighborhoods and waterways.
