The next Pop-Up Drop-Off will be Saturday, July 18 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Metro Fleet Services, 3515 Newburg Road. Each week, the Metro Office of Planning creates a report listing all new land use applications in Jefferson County. These typically include requests for changes in zoning, conditional use permits, variances, waivers, and more. There is one new request in this week's report involving property in our district, a landscape plan for a coffee shop at 3737 Diann Marie Road. The report also includes revised submittals for two cases in our district. If you have questions about any of these, please let me know.
I mentioned in late April that Metro Parks & Recreation was doing some repair work on the mushroom shelters in Berrytown Park and that there was a chance for additional aesthetic improvements as well. Within the last week or so, Metro Parks has added a fresh coat of paint on the restroom building and the concession stand. When combined with the improvements made over the last year or two (new playground equipment, basketball court, walking path, etc.), the park is really looking great. If you haven't visited recently, I hope you'll give it a try.
Once chance to do that is Berrytown Day on Saturday, August 1. The day will include inflatables, food trucks, music, vendors, and more. The festivities run from 2-8 p.m. Hope to see you there!
