LMPD's 8th Division is collecting turkeys to distribute to area families this holiday season. There are a few ways to help as mentioned in the flyer above. If you are interested in dropping off a turkey, there are two opportunities this week - November 19 from 1-4 p.m. at Kroger (12450 La Grange Road) and November 20 from 1-4 p.m. at Kroger (10010 Ballardsville Road). Distribution (first-come, first-served) will take place Wednesday, November 26 at noon at 8th Division headquarters, 2927 Goose Creek Road. Please contact Officer Brittany Rausch at brittany.rausch@louisvilleky.gov with any questions.
As colder months approach, vacant properties face a higher risk of falling victim to crimes, fires, break-ins, and other safety hazards. Property owners are required to keep these properties clean and secure, not only to stay compliant with city codes but also to prevent emergencies that can threaten the safety of our community. If you have concerns regarding a vacant or abandoned property in your neighborhood, or if you require guidance in securing your own, please call Metro Codes & Regulations at 574-2508.
