I want to remind everyone of two resources metro government has to help keep residents informed and safe in the event of an emergency. LENSAlert, a regional emergency notification system, is a great way to get important messages and alerts from Louisville Metro Emergency Services. In addition, residents can create a safety profile for themselves and other members of their household through Smart911. Information provided (medical history, allergies to medication, number of people in the home, even a picture of the family dog, etc.) helps first responders get to the right location with the right information. Click here to sign up for either service or for more information.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) is warning the public about an active scam this tax season. Scammers are sending text messages instructing recipients to click a link to pay their 'property tax bill.' This is a scam. The JCSO will never call, text, or message through social media to request or collect payment of any kind. If you receive one of these messages:
- do not click any link
- do not respond with any personal information
- delete the message immediately
Please contact the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office with any questions by calling 574-5471 or visiting the website here.
