Getting to know you...
The best part of this job, by far: meeting you all! Over the last couple weeks I was able to visit with neighbors at the Zoo Neighbors meeting, at elementary schools in the district, the LMPD 6th Division Advisory Board meeting, on a walk-through of Camp Taylor Memorial Park, at the coffee shop, and more.
I want to highlight one special accomplishment by our neighbor Zachary Kalley, who graduated from Day Spring's College for Living. This program, nestled behind Audubon Hospital, offers residential programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and helps them learn to live independently — think laundry, cooking, and cleaning. Zach is the second graduate of the program and I was able to celebrate at his graduation and present a proclamation from the city. He's also a 10-year employee of UPS. Go, Zach!
Let us know how we can celebrate the folks in your life.
