Congratulations to our Boo at the Zoo ticket winners!

Thanks to everyone who emailed about the Boo at the Zoo ticket giveaway!

We have given out all the tickets we had, but you can still purchase tickets

Boo at the Zoo is September 30 to October 29, Thursdays through Sundays. The party starts at 5 p.m., and guests must exit by 10 p.m. Details are below under District 10 events.


Hikes Lane and Downing Avenue intersection closed through October 9

Now through Monday, October 9, the Hikes Lane and Downing Avenue intersection will be closed for the Hikes Lane Pavement Rehabilitation project. Traffic will be detoured to Chevy Chase Road as seen in the map below.

The federally funded project mostly includes repairing/replacing concrete pavement, improving curb ramps and sidewalks to make them ADA compliant. Construction costs are estimated to be $7,000,000. Work on the 2.7-mile corridor is anticipated to be completed by late October.

Early registration for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program opens October 2

Seniors and disabled people on fixed incomes can apply early for LIHEAP and MSD’s Senior Citizen Discount Program

The Louisville Metro Office of Resilience and Community Services (RCS) is offering pre-registration for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Fall Subsidy Component. The pre-registration will begin Monday, October 2, and will end October 31, or until appointments reach capacity.
