Zoning Matters: Conversations with a City Planner' Library Office Hours

ds;ldskas

The Land Development Code Reform is an equity focused approach to revise the Land Development Code consistently with Plan 2040 to allow for increased housing choices and opportunities in new and existing neighborhoods, to create procedures and regulations that are easier to use and increase the quality of life by reducing the concentration of environmental hazards near housing.

City Planners from Louisville Metro's Office of Planning and Design Services will be available to answer questions from zoning and discuss the ongoing Land Development Code Reform project. We want to hear about your neighborhood and discuss what the reform means for you!

Contract Awarded for I-265 Concrete Rehabilitation in Jefferson County

Project includes slab replacements and diamond grinding

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 11, 2023) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) announces the awarding of a contract for a concrete rehabilitation of Interstate 265 East and West in Jefferson County. This project will extend the life of the interstate and will improve driver comfort on the roadway. Preliminary work has begun on select ramps and sections of I-265. Closure details are available here.

The project will occur from just past the KY 864/Beulah Church Road interchange (mile point 15.6) to beyond the U.S. 31E/Bardstown Road interchange (mile point 18.80). This project includes the removal/replacement of concrete slabs, resealing joints, and diamond grinding to include work at exit ramps along the project route.

Lane closures and delays are possible on weeknights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and weekends beginning Friday at 9 p.m., continuing through Monday at 5 a.m. The weekend lane closures are necessary to allow ample time for the concrete used in the repairs to cure.

Motorists should expect changing traffic patterns, lane shifts, and closures as construction progresses. Earlier this week, signs notifying drivers of the upcoming work were placed in the area. Motorists should obey restrictions and drive cautiously through the construction zone. It is advised to seek an alternate route if possible.

Bluegrass Contracting Corporation of Lexington, KY, was awarded the $4.9 million contract. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the fall of 2023.

The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Visit goky.ky.gov for the latest in traffic and travel information in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. You can also get traffic information for the District 5 counties at facebook.com/KYTCDistrict5 and twitter.com/KYTCDistrict5.
