Notice of Application for Wrecking of Historic Structure The Office of Planning and Design Services has received a zoning change application on which historic structures are proposed for demolition on the property listed below:
Subject Property: 5000 and 5004 Maple Spring Drive Case Number: 22-ZONE-0140
The above reference properties are listed or potentially eligible for listing in The National Register of Historic Places. The applicant has requested a notice of the proposed demolition be sent simultaneously with the notice for the public hearing of the zoning change request. LMCO (150.110) permits this dual notice and commences the required 30-day hold on the property now as opposed to at the time of application for a wrecking permit. The purpose of the 30-day hold is to provide time for the community to consider the demolition and, if warranted, prepare a petition to review designation of the building as a local landmark. This hold will expire after 4/13/2023. Once this hold has expired, a wrecking permit may be applied for and issued if the Development Plan showing its removal is approved.
For additional information regarding this application contact Savannah Darr, Historic Preservation Officer at 574-5705 or savannah.darr@louisvilleky.gov.

TARC is asking for the public to comment on changes being proposed to ten current routes. These changes are being suggested to improve route efficiency, and adjust service to areas where it is most needed. |
To read the full plan (available March 7), and view maps of the proposed changes please visit us at www.ridetarc.org.
TARC is proposing the below service adjustments to take place on August 6, 2023:
Routes 4 (Fourth Street), 6 (Sixth Street), 10 (Dixie Rapid), 18 (Dixie Highway), 72 (Clarksville), and 74 (Chamberlain Ln – River Ridge)
These proposed changes will improve service in the southwest area of the community, along Manslick Road, to St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, JCTC Campus, and to Westport Road. Changes will reallocate duplicated service along the Dixie Corridor, already served by Dixie Rapid Route 10.
Routes 17X (Bardstown Road Express), 31X (Middletown Express), 40X (Jeffersontown Express), and 61X (Plainview Express)
Due to low ridership, Express Route 61X will be discontinued. Also, to be discontinued due to low ridership are the express trip portions only from Routes 17, 31, and 40. To improve morning peak service a local trip has been added to Route 40.
A public meetings to discuss these changes in greater detail is scheduled to take place:
- Thursday, April 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Middletown Branch Library, 12556 Shelbyville Rd., Louisville, KY 40243
Public comments regarding these changes will be accepted through April 25th and may be submitted via mail or in person at Union Station, 1000 West Broadway, Louisville, KY 40203, in-person during the public meetings, by phone at (502) 585-1234, or by email to: PublicComment@ridetarc.org.
