 Sacré bleu! Celebrate the toppling of the long-standing French monarchy, symbolized by the storming of a fortress and political prison in Paris, on Bastille Day, July 14. Nearly a dozen countries around the world have organized events and parties to commemorate the day.
Brasserie Provence Celebrates Liberté, Égalité & Fraternité on Bastille Day at 150 N. Hurstbourne Parkway, in the Forum Shopping Center, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m..  The Office of Resilience and Community Services join with Mayor Fischer and partners at the Louisville Urban League for the public launch of the Louisville Financial Empowerment Center (FEC). The FEC provides no-cost financial counseling, with highly trained professionals available to help residents manage their finances, pay down debt, establish and build credit, and access safe and affordable mainstream banking products.

+ Learn about Land Development Code Reform
 The Land Development Code (LDC) is a set of rules and laws that defines how land can be used, how a development such as a new shopping mall or apartment must be designed, and the procedures for approval. The LDC Reform is an equity-focused approach to revise the LDC consistently with Plan 2040 to allow for increased housing choices and opportunities in new and existing neighborhoods, to create procedures and regulations that are easier to use, and increase the quality of life by reducing the concentration of environmental hazards near housing.
Work to reform the LDC began in the summer of 2020. Initial recommendations, including accessory dwelling units, notification procedures, and urban agriculture were all adopted within the first year. The work continues and we encourage you to participate!

+ Apply for the Evolve 502 Scholarship Grant
Application Deadline: 11:59 p.m. July 15, 2022
Evolve502 Scholarship is a last-dollar scholarship program that covers a student’s college tuition after federal and state aid has been applied. Scholarships are now open to all eligible JCPS Class of 2022 graduates and may be used to earn an associate degree, workforce credential or up to 60 credit hours at any Kentucky Community & Technical College, including Jefferson Community and Technical College, or Simmons College of Kentucky.  The UPS International Community Job Program (ICJP) is a program that assists applicants who speak limited-to-no English gain part-time employment at UPS. Applicants receive assistance with the application, interview process, additional documentation, training and human resource issues. Employees in the program may also qualify for UPS’ tuition assistance programs.

 ProLogistix in Louisville, Kentucky hires logistics and warehouse employees for temporary, temp to hire, and direct hire warehouse jobs. The company also works very closely with Catholic Charities to employ many from the International Community, using language access and training as needed.
The company recently opened its new offices in South Louisville and has committed to making regular monetary donations to Catholic Charities supporting the organization's mission.

The Asia Institute – Crane House has been named as part of the inaugural Southern Cultural Treasures program.
The initiative from Atlanta-based South Arts in collaboration with the Ford Foundation.
“Our hope is that this initiative, with the help of these organizations, will foster a more equitable art community throughout the Southeastern region,” Susie Surkamer, South Arts’ president said in a release.

+ Louisville Metro, Louisville Sustainability Council extend deadline to apply for Solar Over Louisville
 Louisville Metro Government and the Louisville Sustainability Council (LSC) today announced that the deadline to apply for the discounted solar installation program Solar Over Louisville has been extended through Sunday, August 14.
Louisville Metro Government has partnered with the Louisville Sustainability Council to launch the Solar Over Louisville solarize campaign to give households in the greater Louisville region the opportunity to go solar together and support the city’s 100% clean energy goals. The campaign will give households bulk-purchasing power to obtain discounted wholesale rates for solar installation.
