The Jefferson County PVA is preparing for 2022 property assessments. The 2022 property reassessment will encompass MLS areas 6,8 and 9. Area 6 includes all of District 23. The reassessment is required by law.
The role of the PVA is to fairly assess the value of all property. This is an important part of the process to determine the taxes collected to fund our cities, school districts, and emergency services. They do their best to determine accurate median property value for comparable homes, but don’t know every detail of all properties. The condition of a home could mean it falls substantially below or above the median value.
The 2022 reassessment covers a very dense area. The PVA will be hosting nine hybrid community meetings in March and April for each of the areas affected by the 2022 reassessment.

The Louisville Zoo brings back one of the largest lantern festivals in the nation — Wild Lights—returning March 18 through June 5. Tickets are now on sale at louisvillezoo.org/wildlights.
Wild Lights features a variety of animal lanterns, including mammals, birds, and insects, a 98-foot-long dragon, mythical Chinese creatures and promenade walk-throughs. Guests may also enjoy interactive photos opportunities like illuminated angel wings, color changing swings, a kaleidoscope, and many more.
The 48-night immersive cultural experience that kicks off the Zoo’s 53rd season will also include unique handcrafted goods available for purchase, nightly cultural performances on the MetaZoo stage, and Asian-fusion cuisine.
The festival will be 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday nights from March 18 through June 5 and daily from April 4 to 8.

Chico is an approximately five-year-old Weimaraner/Labrador Retriever mix who is a very friendly, mature adult who won’t mistake your remote for a chew toy. This laidback handsome fellow has been friendly with other shelter dogs and can be tested with potential fur siblings by request. A meet and greet is mandatory for families with children. This big guy doesn't throw his weight around because he's just one big scaredy paws. Kessinger, an approximately 3-year-old Rottweiler, isn't sure about a lot of things like new people, leashes, shots - but one thing he's never unsure about are vienna sausages. They've been the key to getting Kessinger to open up and trust shelter staff and now, Kessinger needs someone who understands his breed to adopt and give him a charmed life. Kessinger's adoption fee is waived for an approved adopter and a free dog crate is included, thanks to the Pay It Forward Program. Kessinger weighs 81 lbs.
