Brownsboro Road Deer Crossing Signs

HL

At the VA Medical Center Forum I hosted a couple of weeks ago there were many questions regarding traffic concerns. In the newsletter immediately following the forum, I answered all the traffic questions and promised an update regarding speeding along Brownsboro Rd. (specifically between N. Hubbards & I-264).

Here's the latest: The electronic speed sign remains up, and a work order has now been made to add deer signage between N. Hubbards and Blankenbaker. The Graymoor-Devondale police have also been notified about the speeding in this area.

There are still plenty of resources to find information, ask questions and voice concerns about the VA Medical Center construction.

Click here for the new VA Medical Center website.

Click here for the latest VA Medical Center Construction Update.

Remember, these updates are sent out weekly. If you would like to subscribe to receive them, email LOUVAMCconstruction@usace.army.mil saying, "I would like to subscribe for weekly updates." You can also send construction-related questions to this email address.

As always, you may reach out to my office at any time.

Hubbards Lane Public Works Facility

PW

I attended the Windy Hills City Council Meeting last week and was asked to look into the overgrown foliage along the creek and bridge at the Public Works facility on Hubbards Lane. Also, Council members voiced concerns about the driveway and gates. I contacted Public Works and they were very responsive to my request for assistance.

This is the response I received regarding the property:

"We are in the process of making improvements to this property, which we refer to as the East District Yard. The improvements already completed, as well as those contemplated for this upcoming year, represent environmental measures to reduce the East District’s impact on the Muddy Fork Creek. These measures are being taken following discussions with MSD and the Commonwealth. The steps already taken, as well as those completed within the past year at the Recycling Center at this property are also safety improvements for the residents and our employees.

The concerns mentioned above are along the front of the property adjacent to North Hubbards Lane including the driveways, parking area, and the Christmas tree and leaf drop off site. Some of our environmental measures will also occur at this area.

We can certainly address the maintenance items in the short-term."

The Public Works representative also invited Mayor Davis and me to an on-site visit, which is being scheduled for January.

COVID Update

C19

Rise in Cases

Right now, Louisville is experiencing a significant increase in COVID cases. It is widely held by Louisville health officials and doctors that the Omicron Variant is responsible for this increase. On Wednesday of this week, the COVID incidence rate in the city was 101.38 cases per 100,000*. This is up from 28.99 per 100,000 last month.
