+ Somali Independence Celebration
 Saturday, July 10 from 3 to 8 p.m.
On July 1, the country of Somalia celebrated its Independence Day and Louisville's Somali residents plan to gather and celebrate independence of their country of origin this weekend.
The festival held at Americans Community Community Center fields will include live performance, traditional food, face painting, and awards.

+ Vaccination Event at Americana Community Center
 Americana Community Center is hosting a vaccination event in partnership with the Office for Globalization, Family Health Centers, Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness and the Kentucky Nurses Association.

+ Whitney/Strong's Save a Life
 Saturday, July 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Join Whitney/Strong for their quarterly Save a Life training! Save A Life was developed as an innovative way of reducing gun violence. It offers free evidence-based prevention trainings to community partners.
Trainings include firearm safety skills such as safe storage and gun handling techniques, Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR), Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM), and Stop the Bleed. Practices shared within the training are proven to reduce the risk of gun violence and its toll by preventing accidental death and injury, suicide, violent crime, and uncontrolled bleeding.
The training is available for participants aged 16 and older and the event will be held at King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church.

Join Interfaith Paths to Peace and Portland Vaccination for this vaccine clinic. It is free and open to everyone.

+ Virtual Expungement Clinic
 Thursday, July 15 at 10 a.m.
Goodwill Industries of Kentucky has partnered with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky to offer free, virtual expungement services.
Services will only be offered to the first 150 participants who register. These services include processing of Kentucky State Police reports, extensive client follow-up and direct handling of court cases. These efforts, complemented by soft-skills training and career services, are conducive to prior offenders finding a second chance for meaningful, sustained employment.

+ Geeva Arts Festival
 Saturday, July 17 & 18 at 4 p.m.
Join the Indian diaspora for an exciting cultural festival featuring Indian classical arts. The festival will be available virtually from July 9-10 while the in-person festival will take place on July 17 and 18 at 4 p.m.

+ Americana's Paella to the People
 Saturday, July 17 from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
Join Americana Community Center and the wider community for an evening of paella, sangria, and Latin fusion music. This event will be a neighborhood cookout where you can watch paella being made and enjoy live music.
Proceeds from this event will help Americana continue to bridge the gap from surviving to thriving for thousands of refugees and immigrants in Louisville.
Orders will be closed on Wednesday, July 14.

+ FREE City of Ali Film Screening
 Tuesday, July 20 at 8:30 p.m.
The Iroquois amphitheater will show the new film "City of Ali" on July 20. This 80-minute documentary captures some of the stories and events that occurred in Muhammad’s hometown of Louisville during the week between his passing and his memorial.
