+ Vaccination Event at Derby City Flea Market
 Sunday, May 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Heading to Derby City Flea Market this weekend? Make sure you stop by and get your Covid-19 vaccine on Sunday, May 23. This vaccination event is hosted by Colectivo and the Office for Globalization in partnership with La Casita center, Family Health Centers, Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness, Aldia, Poder, La Esquina, and Wellcare.
Interpreters will be available in multiple languages.
+ Volunteers needed at La Casita Center
 Tuesday, May 25 from 4 to 5 p.m.
La Casita is actively recruiting vaccinated volunteers to support their upcoming programs and events.
Virtual volunteer orientation is offered on the first and last Tuesday of each month to provide new (and familiar) faces a brief of La Casita's history, current work in the pandemic, and volunteering needs.
Both virtual and in-person opportunities are available.

The Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods (OSHN) is hosting the One Love Louisville Networking Night featuring several guests from KentuckianaWorks.
This event is an opportunity for citizens to learn more about employment and economic development efforts and discuss important resources and initiatives in our community.
OSHN's networking nights create an environment for change agents to build a network of citizens to help prevent violence by sharing important resources.

Join the Office for Globalization, Asia Institute Crane House, Lean Into Louisville, and the World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana for this film screening as we celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage month.
There will be a panel discussion following the screening which will feature State Representative Nima Kulkarni, filmmaker Naveen Chaubal, and journalist Michelle Eigenheer.

Have you ever wondered what the refugee resettlement process looks like? Join Welcoming America and Boston University for this two-part webinar on resettlement strategies and how to create inclusive environment for refugees.
In January, the Biden administration released an executive order stating their intention to raise the refugee admissions to 62,500 from 15,000 for the current fiscal year, which ends on September 30, 2021.

Join Kentucky Youth Advocates and Aetna Better Health of Kentucky to discuss teens in foster care and the importance of fostering teens.
Panelists will include Christa Bell, Director of the DCBS Division of Protection and Permanency; Eltuan Dawson, member of True Up and former foster youth; Kelly Pullen, Executive Director of the Aetna Better Health of Kentucky SKY program; and Sarah Stalker, foster parent with experience fostering teens.

+ Global Connections discussion on Ethiopia

Join the Office for Globalization for the second session of our "Global Connections" Lunch & Learn Series.
Global Connections is an opportunity for Louisville residents to hear firsthand from academic experts and community leaders about immediate international affairs issues. The first discussion focused on the political crisis in Myanmar, and the second discussion will tackle the ongoing humanitarian situation in the Tigray region in Ethiopia.
This event will feature academic expert Susan Stigant from the United States Institute of Peace, and Ethiopian community leaders Yodit Dori, Aman Ahmad, and Mahder Tella.
The discussion will be moderated by Amos Izerimana, program manager for the Office for Globalization.
