May 2025 - UG Employee Appreciation Recipients
Nominated by: Enviornmental Services Director Jeff Miles
-
Stevin Summers – Stevin in Environmental Services has proactively taken the initiative to lead a cost-saving investigation aimed at identifying and eliminating redundant landline and cell phone lines within our utility. His efforts have already resulted in saving thousands of dollars, directly benefiting both our department and the ratepayers of this community. In recognition of his outstanding contribution, Jeff Miles would like to commend Stevin and offer a well-deserved reward.
- Last Tuesday evening, a sewer overflow was reported near Rosedale Middle School. Environmental Services team members Chad Mooberry, Brad Phillips, Levi Rodriguez, and Luis Garcia promptly responded to the scene. After locating the overflow deep in the woods downstream from the school, the team worked into the evening, using chainsaws to clear fallen trees and gain access to the manhole. Despite challenging conditions, they made several determined attempts and were ultimately able to restore flow to the sewer line, ensuring that school operations could continue uninterrupted the following morning. Their dedication and teamwork are truly commendable.
UG Employees, keep up the amazing work!!!
