Frozen and Canned Fruits and Vegetables
Fruits and vegetables, canned and frozen, have been added to food packages successfully beginning Aug. 1, 2024. Testing completed by the state and some local agencies has gone well. Some WIC participants may have this benefit, and some may have to wait until their next appointment.
Please provide What can I buy with fruits and vegetables benefit? to your clients to assist them in selecting WIC approved items. We will have a Spanish version of this document soon. When it is ready both the English and Spanish versions will be available to you through the WICShopper app.
Remember only those that have Fruits & Vegetables- $ will be allowed frozen and canned. All others will remain fresh.
Local Agency Contracts
Local Agency contracts will expire Sept. 30, 2024. Your agency’s new contract will be effective as of Oct. 1, 2024. With the end of the contract period, please remember that any delays in your submissions will affect a timely end of year payout.
Please submit the authorized signer’s information (name, title and email address) to the KS WIC Fiscal email no later than Aug. 20.
