Public Service Recognition Week: May 5-11, 2024
Kent County Team,
As May begins, we are happy to celebrate Public Service Recognition Week on the 5th-11th and acknowledge the tireless dedication and extraordinary contributions of our team. Each department, program, service, and employee plays a crucial role in our community's well-being, vitality, and success. Whether you're serving our residents directly or supporting our operations from within, your contributions make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.
As a small token of appreciation and a visual thank you to our staff, please keep an eye out for yard signs and banners placed at most of our county facilities the week of May 5th. Also, take a moment to view a special message from our county administrator, Al Vanderberg, by clicking the link above. The Board of Commissioners also wanted to share their appreciation with you; please see the photo message below.
Thank you for your continued dedication and service to Kent County. We appreciate you!
Administrative Office Assistants Day-Thank You!
Though belated, we couldn't let Administrative Professionals Day pass without expressing our gratitude to our wonderful Administrative Office Assistants. Your dedication and hard work are the foundation of our organization. Your professionalism, efficiency, and commitment to excellence ensure our operations run smoothly. Thank you for being the unsung heroes behind the scenes. Your efforts do not go unnoticed. Happy Administrative Professionals Day!
Birthday Wishes
Happy Birthday to our incredible four-legged colleagues from the Sheriff's Department Mounted and K9 Units!
To Hondo, with his striking dapple-gray coloring, we celebrate your belated April 30th birthday with immense gratitude for your service. And as May approaches, we eagerly anticipate honoring Hugo, the majestic Percheron/Thoroughbred blend, on his special day, May 1st.
And to our fearless K9 deputy, Chiko, whose birthday falls on May 3rd, we send our warmest wishes for a day filled with treats, belly rubs, and plenty of playtime.
Thank you, Hondo, Hugo, and Chiko, for your invaluable contributions to keeping our community safe. Here's to many more years of partnership and friendship!
With Spring finally here and the promise of warmer weather ahead, it's the perfect time to consider keeping a pair of comfy shoes and socks handy at your desk. Let's embrace the spirit of “Walk-It-Out-Wednesday” by encouraging our office mates to step out for a walk during breaks or as part of their lunch routine. It's a wonderful chance to invigorate ourselves with some fresh air, put a little spring in our step, and give our minds and bodies a well-deserved breather. And don't forget to soak up some of that vitamin D from the sun while you're at it!
Remember, you and your colleagues can choose any day of the week that suits your schedules—it's not restricted to Wednesdays!
Please share your photos with Dawn Davies at Communications@kentcountymi.gov.
