Jennings County Crash Claims One Life
Jennings
County-Today, at approximately 8:45 am, the Indiana State Police and Jennings
County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle crash on State Route 750
near County Road 200 North that claimed the life of a St. Paul, Indiana woman.
The initial
investigation by the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team determined
that a tan 2012 Ford Passenger van, being driven by Christean M. Price, age 51,
Seymour, Indiana was traveling eastbound on State Road 750, east of County Road
200 North. For an unknown reason, Price’s
vehicle crossed the centerline into the path of a westbound black 2000 Toyota
Sienna minivan, being driven by Angela M. Abston, age 49, St. Paul,
Indiana. The vehicles collided in the
westbound lane of State Road 750. After
the collision, Price’s vehicle overturned and came to rest in the middle of
State Road 750. Abston’s vehicle left
the north side of the roadway before coming to a stop.
As a result of the
collision, Abston sustained fatal injuries.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jennings County Coroner’s
Office. Price sustained serious injuries
in the crash. She was airlifted to St.
Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis. Four
other people traveling in Price’s vehicle sustained minor injuries. They were all transported to St. Vincent’s-Jennings
Hospital for treatment of their minor injuries.
State Road 750 was
closed for nearly four hours for crash investigation and cleanup.
The Price family has
been notified.
The investigation is
ongoing.
The Indiana State
Police was assisted by the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, North Vernon
Police Department, Jennings County EMS, Jennings County Fire, Indiana
Department of Transportation, North Vernon Street Department, Jennings County
Coroner’s Office, and Pearson’s Wrecker Service.
