Jennings County Crash Claims One Life

Jennings County-Today, at approximately 8:45 am, the Indiana State Police and Jennings County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle crash on State Route 750 near County Road 200 North that claimed the life of a St. Paul, Indiana woman.

The initial investigation by the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team determined that a tan 2012 Ford Passenger van, being driven by Christean M. Price, age 51, Seymour, Indiana was traveling eastbound on State Road 750, east of County Road 200 North.  For an unknown reason, Price’s vehicle crossed the centerline into the path of a westbound black 2000 Toyota Sienna minivan, being driven by Angela M. Abston, age 49, St. Paul, Indiana.  The vehicles collided in the westbound lane of State Road 750.  After the collision, Price’s vehicle overturned and came to rest in the middle of State Road 750.  Abston’s vehicle left the north side of the roadway before coming to a stop.

As a result of the collision, Abston sustained fatal injuries.  She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jennings County Coroner’s Office.  Price sustained serious injuries in the crash.  She was airlifted to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis.  Four other people traveling in Price’s vehicle sustained minor injuries.  They were all transported to St. Vincent’s-Jennings Hospital for treatment of their minor injuries.

State Road 750 was closed for nearly four hours for crash investigation and cleanup.

The Price family has been notified.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, North Vernon Police Department, Jennings County EMS, Jennings County Fire, Indiana Department of Transportation, North Vernon Street Department, Jennings County Coroner’s Office, and Pearson’s Wrecker Service.
