Indiana State Police Toll Road Post Welcomes New Corporal

2017-08-23 KubschJ

Elkhart County- Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter recently announced the promotion of Master Trooper Judith Kubsch to the position of Corporal at the Toll Road Post.  Master Trooper Kubsch earned this promotion through written testing and a competitive interview process.

Kubsch, a twenty three year veteran of the Indiana State Police, graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School and then attended Ball State University where she earned a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice and military science.

After graduating from the Indiana State Police 50th recruit class in December of 1993, Kubsch was assigned to the Redkey District before eventually transferring to the Bremen Post where she patrolled St. Joseph County.  While working for the state police, Kubsch has served as a field training officer (FTO) and been a member of the underwater search and recovery team (USRT). Kubsch has also been certified in river rescue, accident reconstruction, and served as director of the Pioneer Camp in 2008 and 2014.

Kubsch served in the United States Army where she achieved the rank of Major.  While in the Army, Kubsch served in Iraq and was directly in charge of 19 soldiers in a combat zone.  She also directly supervised the creation of the first military police station at Camp Victory Complex.  Kubsch also holds a Combat Action badge.

Kubsch lives in Lakeville with her husband, Master Trooper Kevin Kubsch, and their son.
