Pavement Overlay to Begin on U.S. 41 Bridges in Vincennes

KNOX COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane restrictions for the U.S. 41 Bridges over the CSX Railroad tracks in Vincennes.

Beginning on or around April 4, contractors will begin working on the bridge located near the Carghill grain bin between the Hart and Willow Street exits. Both the north and southbound lanes will be restricted to one 12-foot lane of traffic while workers perform a rehabilitation of the bridges. Work, including cleaning and hot mix asphalt overlay, is expected to start in the driving lane and shift to the passing lane.

The project is scheduled to last until mid-July, depending upon weather conditions. During that time, restrictions will be in place around the clock. Loads over 12 feet wide should use an alternate route. This is one of three bridge projects currently taking place in Knox County.
