Two U.S. 50/41 Bridge Projects to Begin in Vincennes
KNOX COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana
Department of Transportation announces lane restrictions for two bridge
projects in Vincennes set to begin within the next two weeks on U.S. 50 and
U.S. 41.
Beginning on or around March 14,
contractors will begin restricting lanes on bridges on the bridges spanning the
westbound ramp from U.S. 50 west onto U.S. 41 south. This is the lower level of
the tri level bridges in that area. Lanes will be restricted to one lane in
each direction during the project. Inclement weather could affect the start
date of this project.
Beginning on or around March 21, contractors
will begin replacing the deck of the bridges on U.S. 41 that cross over Old
Wheatland Road. This project will be restricted using the crossovers
constructed last fall. Northbound U.S. 41/westbound U.S. 50 traffic will be
routed into the southbound lanes of U.S. 41 during the first phase of the
project.
Both projects are scheduled to last
until early to mid July depending upon weather conditions. Restrictions will be
in place around the clock during the course of construction.
