Nick Weber to take the helm of chief of staff for City of Carmel
Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam announced Wednesday that Nick Weber will serve as chief of staff for the City of Carmel. Weber will maintain his responsibilities as executive director of Economic Development for Carmel during this transition period.
With extensive executive leadership experience in both the public and private sectors, Weber will work closely with the mayor, city council and department heads to execute strategic initiatives and drive meaningful progress for Carmel residents.

Carmel Street Department announces 2025 street paving list
The City of Carmel Street Department has released its list of 2025 street paving projects. More than 50 lane miles of roadway are scheduled for an upgrade this spring and summer as the Street Department kicks off its annual effort.

City to celebrate Ardalan Plaza groundbreaking
Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam, Soori Gallery owner Soori Ardalan and development project partners will break ground on Tuesday, May 20 at 4 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and 4th Avenue SW.
Ardalan Plaza, a highly anticipated mixed-use development in Carmel's Arts & Design District will feature luxury condominiums, vibrant retail and gallery spaces and a private rooftop residence.

Carmel's construction season is underway, so please plan extra travel time, follow detour signs carefully and remember to be patient and mindful of the safety of construction workers and flaggers.
Pennsylvania Parkway and Liberty Fund Drive The roundabout at this intersection is closed for 30 days.
96th Street and College Avenue Roundabout Construction of Carmel's 156th roundabout at the intersection of East 96th Street and North College Avenue is underway. The intersection is managed by the City of Carmel and the project is designed to improve safety, traffic flow and pedestrian access at this key entry point into the City.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to continue supporting the businesses at this intersection throughout the duration of the project.

Memorial Day Ceremony
The City of Carmel will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony Friday, May 23 at 9 a.m. at the Carmel Clay Veterans Memorial Plaza.
The City of Carmel's annual Memorial Day Ceremony honors the brave military personnel who have served and to show our gratitude for the sacrifices they have made. A light breakfast is provided, courtesy of Pana Donuts and Just Love Coffee.

Landscape debris pick-up from Republic Services
Happy Spring! As part of the Republic Services trash and recycling residential program in Carmel, each household is allowed 20 extra bags or bundles per week of landscape waste, during the month of May.
A friendly reminder from Carmel Utilities that, due to Memorial Day, there will be a one day delay of Republic Services trash and recycling service the week of May 26.
Please also note that the Carmel Household Hazardous Waste site will be closed from Saturday, May 24, until it reopens on Tuesday, May 27.

Carmel Fire Department Lateral Hiring Process open through May 30
The City of Carmel Fire Department (CFD) is committed to protecting and serving our community with dedication, integrity and excellence.
CFD is currently seeking lateral firefighters who have at least two years of service and are active members of the PERF 77 pension fund.
