City of Carmel announces renewal of 3-year sponsorship agreement with Allied Solutions

The City of Carmel held a press conference on Wednesday, April 24 to announce the renewal of a corporate partnership with Allied Solutions, a financial services company headquartered in Carmel’s Midtown Plaza. A three-year sponsorship agreement, with a nearly $500,000 investment, will support the delivery of more than a dozen City of Carmel annual events.
“The City of Carmel is our home, and we are pleased to enhance our partnership with the city to support this vibrant community for employees, residents and visitors,” said Pete Hilger, CEO of Allied Solutions. “The city’s events from the Ice at Carter Green to Brews on the Boulevard bring the community together and encourage visitors to experience all the city has to offer.”

Spring hydrant flushing Carmel Utilities is conducting city hydrant flushing maintenance over the next four weeks, beginning on the northeast side, then moving west. Flushing is a controlled, quick release of water from fire hydrants, to optimize water quality and confirm that each hydrant is operating properly every year. Thank you to the Water Distribution Department for providing this vital service.

Landscape debris pick-up from Republic Services Happy Spring! As part of the Republic Services trash and recycling residential program in Carmel, each household is allowed 20 extra bags or bundles per week of landscape, during the months of April and May.

The Carmel Police Department announced the recent graduation of Officer Mary Potvin and Officer Andrea Ruiz from an extensive field training program. Congratulations also to Officer Austin Guerrettaz and Officer Sheldon Robinson as they graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. The Carmel Sustainability Committee held its first volunteer invasive species removal event in March at Central Park. Invasive species can cause extinctions of native plants and animals, reduce biodiversity and alter habitats. The 23-person volunteer group eradicated one acre of Japanese honeysuckle growing in the woods near 111th Street and College Avenue. This effort included city staff from the Department of Community Services, Engineering, Streets, Utilities, Marketing and Community Relations, Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation and the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District.

Midtown Block Party Saturday, May 11 2-6 p.m. Midtown Plaza celebrated its grand opening in 2019. What began as an anniversary party to honor opening day, has now evolved into a larger celebration to kick off the summer season with special events and activities.
