Carmel Street Department to begin road rejuvenation project
CARMEL, IN – Beginning on or after Monday, October 24, the Carmel Street Department will begin a road rejuvenation project with contractor Rejuvtec in the following areas:
- West 141st Street – Spring Mill Road to Shelborne Road
- East 122nd Street – Medalist Parkway to River Road
- College Meadows – Entire subdivision
- West Road – West 131st Street to West 121st Street
The process involves the application of a pink-hued asphalt rejuvenation product to the roads followed by a thin layer of sand which is swept up the next day. Preventative maintenance on roadways extends the life of the asphalt; this product replaces oils that are dried from the pavement by the heat of manufacturing and the sun. The product seals and rejuvenates pavement so it's weather-resistant.
Traffic delays are expected to be minimal but there will be a noticeable adjustment to the traffic pattern. If you are a resident in the College Meadows subdivision, you will receive a yellow door hanger (image below) with instructions pertaining to the asphalt treatment.
