Allied Solutions' Meet Me on Main - May edition
Meet Me on Main, presented by Allied Solutions, is this Saturday in the Arts & Design District. Make it a girls' night out, bring the family or enjoy some 'me' time at this great event.

Carmel to unveil new sculpture by Dominic Benhura in the Arts & Design District

What: Public art sculpture unveiling ceremony of a new stone sculpture that will be installed at the intersection of Main Street and Veterans Way in the Arts & Design District.
When: Saturday, May 14 at 5 p.m. during Allied Solutions' Meet Me on Main event.
Where: Main Street and Veterans Way, next to the Carmel Chocolate Café.
Who: Carmel City Council President Kevin "Woody" Rider, Clay Township Board Member Mary Eckard, sculptor Dominic Benhura, Jayne During, owner of Kuaba Gallery, members of the Carmel Public Art Advisory Committee, the Mayor's Advisory Commission on Human Relations, and other City officials.
Details: The City of Carmel will unveil a new stone sculpture by Zimbabwean sculptor Dominic Benhura.
The public is invited to a reception at Kuaba Gallery (404 W. Main Street) immediately following the unveiling.

Come out to Bike Carmel's first Family Fun Ride of the season!
IU Health North Hospital presents Bike Carmel: Family Fun Ride! Join them for a family fun ride (2 miles on paths and trails) and a bike rodeo for the kids.
There will be activities and games before and after each ride and every registered participant will receive a swag bag and t-shirt. Registration is free and begins at 8:30 a.m with the ride rolling out at 9:30 a.m.

Construction News
MAIN STREET ROUNDABOUTS - Preliminary work has begun at the two intersections on Main Street near the high school. On or after May 26, the roundabouts at Richland Avenue and Lexington Boulevard will begin construction under closures.
Access to Carmel Christian Church and the educational buildings on the south side of Main Street will be maintained from the east side of the project along Main Street with the majority of construction completed prior to the start of school in August.
1st AVENUE NW - The construction east of Sophia Square will shift north to encompass work in the intersection of 1st Avenue NW and 1st Street NW. Access to the Sophia Square parking garage will now be from West Main Street instead of from 1st Street NW. This traffic pattern will be in place for the duration of this work which will extend through May; full completion of this project is estimated for June.
SMOKY ROW PROJECT - This project, beginning on or after May 26, is the reconstruction of the current two-lane road into a boulevard with a landscaped median, new curbs, storm water collection, multi-use paths, new bridges on Smoky Row and on the Monon Greenway, north of Smoky Row. In addition, a new roundabout will be built at the west end of the project limits on Smoky Row. (See map below)

Carmel Utilities continues replacing aging water meters across the community with new, enhanced equipment allowing for more accurate readings and better water efficiency.

Republic Services Landscape Waste Pick-up - April & May
It's that time of year again! During the months of April and May, each Carmel Utilities/Republic Services household is allowed 20 extra bags or bundles per week of landscape waste, free of charge. Please place as much yard waste as possible into the trash cart, while allowing the trash cart lid to close. Large branches must be cut into shorter sections (no larger than four feet) and tied into bundles. Click here for more details.

Carmel Utilities Drive-up Billing Drop Box Temporarily Out of Service
The Carmel Utilities drive-up billing drop box, located in the south parking lot at Carmel City Hall, One Civic Square, is temporarily out of service. Due to deterioration and long use, the structure has become compromised and is no longer able to securely hold customer payments. Carmel Utilities will post updates and announce the re-opening of the drop box when those details are known.
Did you know there are several ways to make a Carmel Utilities bill payment? Please consider other convenient options:
-Drop payments off at the Carmel Utilities Administrative offices located at 30 W. Main St., Ste 220, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Calling future firefighters!
Firefighter for a Day Camp - a favorite Carmel Fire Department event - is back in 2022. The event, which is free to kids, will take place June 21 - 24 at Prairie Trace Elementary School.
Registration begins May 18 and will fill up fast.

Check out Carmel Clay Parks' summer camp: Success on Stage! Put your kiddo's name up in lights! Enrollment for Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation's Success on Stage summer camp is open. Campers (ages 9-13) will have the chance to act, sing, dance and shine in two productions this summer. The first four weeks of camp will be spent preparing the Broadway Jr. musical, Shrek, Jr. In the second half of summer, campers will perform the comic play Rumpelstiltskin, Private Eye. Rain on Main - Now accepting new artist applications
Local artists (professionals and talented adult amateurs) are invited to participate in Rain on Main, a painted rain barrel art contest that will include cash prizes in two categories as well as exposure for participating artists and their work.
Rain on Main is designed to help educate the public about the value of water conservation. The event is sponsored by the Carmel Utilities, the Department of Storm Water Management and the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District.
