Enjoy art and shopping Saturday in the Carmel Arts & Design District
CARMEL, IN – Join us this Saturday, May 14, for Allied Solutions’ Meet Me on Main in the Carmel Arts & Design District from 5 - 9 p.m. Make your way to Main Street and Range Line Road for an evening of art, shopping and more.
Meet Me on Main is the City of Carmel’s monthly “second Saturday” event to highlight our local galleries, restaurants and design-related businesses in the District. Art galleries and businesses will be featuring special events, specially planned to enhance the art and design-related features of the District.

New sculpture unveiling at 5 p.m.

Carmel City Council President Kevin “Woody” Rider and Clay Township Board Mary Eckard will be joined by members of the Carmel Public Art Advisory Committee, the Mayor's Advisory Commission on Human Relations, sculptor Dominic Benhura, Kuaba Gallery owner Jayne During and other City officials in celebration of the unveiling of this sculpture at the corner of Main Street and Veterans Way next to the Carmel Chocolate Café, at 5 p.m.
There will be a reception at Kuaba Gallery (404 W. Main St.) immediately following and the public is welcome to attend.
Make & Take craft for May.
Visit the art galleries and businesses to enjoy their special offers, as well as special activities in the Arts & Design District:
- Free Caricatures in front of Circle Real Estate (30 W. Main St.)
- Make & Take crafts led by The Art Lab in the outdoor breezeway next to Sub Zero (111 W. Main St. #130)
- Live music featuring J. Elliott, Jeff Reed, Classical Musical Indy
There will be an opportunity to register to win one of three $100 gift cards by visiting participating merchants and dropping your name and contact information into a special drawing that will take place soon thereafter. The gift cards are from your choice of an Arts & Design District business. Be sure to visit as many galleries and shops as possible to increase your chance to win.

This month, the front room exhibit will feature mixed media and digital photography by Andrea Mauer and Mike McKinley. To celebrate the month of May and the Indy 500, there will be black and white prints, jewelry, coasters and glass art. Also, there will be plenty of colorful spring art including flower paintings, soaps, candles, charcuterie boards and more.

CCA Gallery & Gifts
The CCA Gallery is featuring two artists - printmaking by David O'Dell and woodworks by David Brandzel. Come by the gallery to meet both artists during the "Meet the Artists" reception from 5 - 8 p.m. and discover how they create their amazing work.

Indiana Artisan Gifts & Gallery
Meet painter Craig Whitten at the gallery and watch him paint from 5 - 9 p.m. Whitten uses the word "spontaneity" in conversations about nature, art and the way he views both. "The spontaneity of watercolor is a perfect correlation to the spontaneity of nature to me." Known for his crisp, clean koi and bird paintings, Whitten says that everything he does with his art comes from a place of an emotional experience.

Magdalena Gallery of Arts
Drop by and see abstract artist Cristina Nunez who currently works out of her studio in Columbia, Missouri, but has had exhibitions in numerous countries around the world including Argentina, South Korea, Spain, England and China.

Arts & Design Businesses
Cool Creek Family Health (Business located at 340 N. Range Line Road) Staff from Cool Creek Family Health will be giving away complimentary children's books in front of the Carmel Arts Council Children's Art Gallery (40 W. Main St.).
Main Street Construction Information
Construction continues on 1st Aveue NW north of Main Street. Please continue to drive with caution. Access to the Sophia Square parking garage is open.
