NEW: FEMA Public Assistance Training Webinars

May 8, 2020

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has scheduled webinars the week of May 11 to provide instruction on how to use its Grants Portal AND to provide a COVID-19 Application overview.

The Application Overview Webinar is new, and provides information on the COVID-19 process flow, streamlined project application in the Grants Portal, and COVID-19 documentation and forms.

Organizations that are planning to participate in the Public Assistance Program are strongly encouraged to attend the Application Overview Webinar. Make sure to attend a Grants Portal Applicant Webinar as well if you haven't done so yet.

View more information on the upcoming webinars through the link below:

Those with questions about the webinars should contact FEMA directly at FEMA-Recovery-PA-Grants@fema.dhs.gov or 1-866-337-8448.

Reference These Resources to Participate in PA Program

April 27, 2020

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is continuing to provide guidance on how to use its Grants Portal. Reference these resources if your organization is planning to participate in the Public Assistance (PA) Program.

FEMA also has created an online course to instruct applicants and recipients on how they can accurately capture emergency protective measure activities. This includes documenting costs concerning actual overtime based on payroll policies, equipment usage, and reasonable materials purchases. More information on this course can be found here.

We hope you find these resources valuable as your organization participates in this program. We will provide further updates as we receive information and direction from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and FEMA.

Reminder: Info on the Public Assistance Program sent on April 9

April 9, 2020

On March 31, the Lake County Emergency Management Agency provided guidance by email on the Public Assistance Program application process to local governments, special districts, and private non-profits.

In an effort to provide additional guidance, organizations that are applying for the program will need to submit three additional forms to the Illinois Emergency Management Agency. Please review the letter linked below to learn more.

We will provide further updates as we receive information and direction from IEMA and FEMA.
