Construction on the Diamond Lake Road culvert replacement is underway. Before construction was able to start, utilities had to move out of the way, the project needed to be designed, and the materials had to be special ordered. Now everything appears to be on schedule and the county’s contractor was set to begin the replacement of the culvert and the reconstruction of Diamond Lake Road this week. The contractor will first excavate and construct the foundations, then place the new large elliptical pipes, and finally reconstruct the roadway over the creek. Based on current plans and weather permitting, we estimate the road will reopen in mid-September.
The second installment of Lake County property taxes is due Sept. 3. Please note, you received one bill in May, and you will not receive another bill for the second installment. If you have misplaced your second installment coupon, you can print a copy from the Treasurer's Office website by entering your PIN or address. Find out more

 The Lake County Sheriff's
Office has received reports of
Lake County residents getting fraudulent telephone calls from individuals
representing themselves as someone from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. In
these instances, the offenders are using tools to “spoof” their telephone
number, making it appear on recipients’ caller identification as a telephone
number used by the Sheriff’s Office, when that is not the case. If you think
you’ve received a fraudulent telephone call, contact the Sheriff’s Office at 847-377-4000.
