Second Installment of Property Tax Bills Due September 3

The second installment of Lake County property taxes is due Thursday, September 3. Please note, you received one bill in May and you will not receive another bill for the second installment. If you have misplaced your second installment coupon, you can print a copy from the Treasurer's Office website by entering your PIN or address. 

We have a number of transparency tools to help you understand your tax bill. Get answers to some frequently asked questions​, and you can also view current and previous bills.   Keep in mind, while you send your payment to Lake County, the County only keeps a small portion (about 7%), and the rest is distributed to many other taxing districts. Property Tax Payment Options

U.S. Mail - Mail your payment using the envelopes provided with your bill. It must be postmarked on or before the due date in order to avoid penalty. The return envelopes that accompany your tax bill have a different return mailing address than in previous years. To mail in your payment, send it to the Treasurer's Office new P.O. Box located in Bedford Park, IL. This location was selected to increase productivity in the Treasurer's Office, as it is the closest post office to the Treasurer's Office lock box facility.

Other property tax payment options include: drop box, in person at most Lake County banks, and at the Lake County Treasurer's Office, online, or by phone.
