ETHS to Move 'Geometry in Construction' House on September 15

EVANSTON, IL - Evanston Township High School (ETHS) will move a two-story home on Monday, September 15, beginning at 9 a.m. The home will move from 1600 Dodge Ave. to 1222 Washington St.
The 'Geometry In Construction' course at ETHS provides students the opportunity to learn math by building a home, which is then sold as affordable housing. The program is a collaboration between ETHS, the City of Evanston, and Community Partners for Affordable Housing.
The home will depart ETHS, travel east on Lake Street, south on Dodge Avenue, east on Main Street, south on Asbury Avenue, and then east on Washington Street. View the route map.
There will be no parking along part of the moving route. Community members can expect minor delays accessing homes and businesses during the move. Washington Street will be closed from Asbury Avenue to the alley east of Asbury Avenue from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sidewalks will be closed 150 feet to the east and the west of the property

The purchaser’s household income cannot exceed 120 percent of the area median income for the household size.
