Experience a variety of classes for free at the Levy Senior Center from August 25th to 31st. Whether you prefer in-person or virtual participation, there's something for everyone. Highlights include Tai Chi, Zumba, Pilates, and more!

This Fall, the Levy Center is excited to offer Pickleball Workshops on Mondays and Wednesdays starting Monday, September 9! Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting, these workshops are perfect for enhancing your skills and having fun. The workshops are available for a fee of $135 for Levy members and $176 for non-members.

August Thrive with Pride Cafe
Do you want your healthcare to be less one-size-fits-all and more tailored? To be more affirming and inclusive for LGBTQIA+ people and reflect how our communities have unique health experiences and face different barriers?
In this workshop on Tuesday, August 27 through zoom from 11 a.m.-Noon, led by Midwest Community Engagement Coordinator Cassie Armea-Warren, we’ll explore these questions, what PRIDEnet is doing to catalyze LGBTQIA+ health research, share results from our recent community listening sessions with LGBTQIA+ older adults, and discuss ways to get involved. Tips and Tricks with your IPAD
Do you have an IPAD and want to learn the tips and tricks of using it? Sign up for a free workshop on Monday, September 9 from Noon-1:30 p.m. You can register by calling the Levy Senior Center Front Desk at 847-448-8250. You need to bring your IPAD with you for this workshop.
IPhone & IPad Photo Organization Workshop
Bring your IPhone or IPad on Monday, October 7 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Hackberry Room and learn how to organize, edit and share your photos! Registration is required by calling the Levy front desk at 847-448-8250. Space is limited, so call today!
Volunteer for Shower Singers Group
Do you love music and enjoy helping others. We are looking for a lead dedicated volunteer with piano or keyboard experience to help lead the Shower Singers Group.
Jamming Jean Concert-Sept. 27
The popular Gerald McClendon and his band will return Friday, September 27 at 5:00pm for a Jamming Jean concert in James Park. Affectionately known as the “Soulkeeper,” McClendon is a dynamic and passionate soul musician whose electrifying performances leave audiences spellbound. Outdoor Racquet Courts Now Available for Online Reservations
The Evanston Parks and Recreation is excited to announce that community members and visitors can now reserve tennis and pickleball courts online. This new system aims to streamline the reservation process, making it easier and more convenient for everyone to enjoy these popular sports. Learn more.
Senior Bingo
Come out to Levy Senior Center on Tuesday and Fridays from 12:30 p.m.-3 p.m. for several games of Bingo. The cards are $2.00 a piece. You must be a current Levy Member to participate.
Senior Chat
Come and be part of Senior Chat at Levy. It is Mondays from noon- 1 p.m. in the Library. The group discusses current events and news. There are guest speakers monthly. This group is included with a Levy Membership.
Open Basketball-Members Only
Calling all ladies and men who are Levy Members who love to hoop! Show off your skills on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. at the Levy Senior Center.
Open Pickleball-Members Only
Are you a Levy Senior Center member who loves pickleball? Join us for open pickleball on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Enjoy fun, self-monitored games with fellow members!
Levy Knit & String Group
Are you a Levy Member who loves to knit or crochet or you want to learn? Come out to the Levy Knit and String Group every Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to learn with this fun social group.
Levy Senior Center Book Club
Do you enjoy reading and talking about book with others. Come join the Levy Senior Center Book Club. They meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. You must be a current Levy Member to participate.
Movies for Members
Save the date for our weekly movie event for Levy members. To be included on the list, you must be a current Levy member and must pre-register by calling 847-448-8250. We encourage you to bring your own snacks and drinks to enjoy during the movie.
Levy Membership
Elevate your 2024 at the Levy Senior Center with our new membership program! Enjoy a year of fun, fitness, and exclusive discounts. Memberships are prorated through the end of this year and will be annual thereafter, expiring on December 31, 2024. Renewing is easy—simply call us or visit the front desk to start enjoying exciting activities and savings all year long.
Drop-in Pickleball
Visit us at the Levy Senior Center every Monday and Wednesday between noon and 3 p.m., and on Sundays between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., to enjoy drop-in pickleball.
- $5 per person. Please pay at the front desk before playing.
- Three lined pickleball courts are available
- Nets and balls will be provided
- Players must provide paddles
Players are responsible for organizing games and being respectful of court time. All skill levels are welcome.
Songs by Heart
Therapeutic sing-alongs will be held on Fridays from noon to 1 p.m. in the Levy Library. The Songs by Heart program encourages people at all cognitive levels to engage with others and the world. ‘Songs by Heart’ has partnered with the Levy Senior Center to provide their first regular programs for people living outside of retirement communities at no cost. This program was designed for people with Alzheimer's or other dementias and their caregivers, but all are welcome.
Levy Fitness Room
Get ready to embark on an exhilarating fitness journey tailored for seniors aged 55 and above at the Levy Senior Center. Say goodbye to a sedentary lifestyle and embrace the joy of exercise. This isn't just about lifting weights—it's about unlocking your inner fitness guru with fun activities like treadmill dance parties and conquering the elliptical machine.
Enjoy a variety of workouts, from cardio and strength training to gentle stretching, all in a vibrant, supportive environment. Join fellow fitness enthusiasts for camaraderie, high-fives, and fist bumps. Put on your sneakers, stay hydrated, and make 2024 the year you surpass your fitness goals!

Levy Café
The Levy Senior Center serves hot meals Monday through Friday and five-pack frozen meals on Tuesdays. Apply online to join the Senior Congregate Meal Program. To learn more, call the Levy Senior Center front desk at 847-448-8250. August Lunch Menu
Ride The Levy Bus
Booking Procedures:
- To arrange for bus service, you must call either the day before or by 8:30 a.m. on the morning of the requested day to be added to the pick-up list for that day.
- To request transportation, call the Levy Senior Center front desk at 847-448-8250 the day before or call 847-448-4311 on the morning of your intended trip.
Morning Bus Pickups (Monday through Friday):
- Pickups begin at 9:15 a.m.
Afternoon Return Routes (Monday-Friday):
- The first return route from the Levy Center departs at 12:30 p.m.
- The last bus of the day departs at 3:30 p.m., returning members home.
Grocery Shopping Trips:
- Starting at 11:30 a.m., we only provide grocery shopping trips on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- On Tuesdays, the bus will make stops at Dollar Tree, Goodwill, and Vali. Drop-offs occur on Wednesdays at Sam's Club, Marshalls, Food for Less, Jewel, and Target. The bus will be available to pick you up at the end of your shopping trip.
Free of Charge for Levy Center Members:
- Importantly, all of these transportation services are completely free of charge for Levy Center members who are 55 and older.
