Stroll through sidewalk sales all weekend long!
Shop until you drop this weekend during sidewalk sales happening across Evanston business districts. Let’s show our local businesses some love ❤️.
The Main-Dempster Mile: Shop participating businesses along the Main-Dempster Mile this weekend. Enjoy sidewalk sales, free activities, a DJ Dance Party, live music, and more! Download the map to join in on the fun.
Downtown Evanston: Downtown Evanston will host its annual Sidewalk Sale + Chalk Art Contest this weekend, where stores throughout downtown offer awesome deals at racks and tables on the sidewalks. On Saturday, artists of all ages will also create chalk art outside of local businesses.
Central Street: Head to Central Street through Sunday for the biggest sales of the year! Shop outside tables and racks filled with discounts, grab local eats, and enjoy activities and entertainment.

Mason Park Expansion Project Survey: Community members are invited to provide input on three Mason Park concept designs that were publicly reviewed on July 9 by taking a survey, open through August 23.
City's Strategic Housing Plan Feedback: If the City had additional resources to support housing in Evanston, how should they be used? The City's Strategic Housing Plan, Housing4All, will set housing goals for the next 10 years. Provide preliminary feedback by July 29.
Bicycle Access Voucher Pilot Meeting: This program will provide vouchers for bicycles, locks, helmets, and lights to income-qualified residents. Join in for a meeting to share your thoughts on Wed., July 31, at 6:30 p.m. at the Robert Crown Community Center. Register to attend.
 Enjoy a community-filled evening
Join the Evanston Police and Parks & Recreation Departments in celebrating National Night Out (NNO) on Tues., Aug. 6, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Centennial Park. This family-friendly evening will include food trucks, games, a movie, and giveaways!
What's National Night Out? This annual community-building campaign promotes public safety, community partnerships, and neighborhood camaraderie to help make our neighborhoods safer, and more caring.
Enjoy a Starlight Movie: The featured movie, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie will begin at 6 p.m. Don't forget your blankets and chairs!

Starlight cinema: Head to Mason Park, Church St. and Florence Ave., to enjoy the movie "The Color Purple" (2023), starting at 7 p.m. Bring your family and friends out to enjoy this decades-spanning tale of love and resilience and of one woman's journey to independence.
Sounds of summer: Enjoy a Starlight Concert sponsored by Evanston SPACE at Kamen Park West on Tues., July 30. Groove to the sounds of The Howard Levy 4 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Second installment property tax bills are due August 1
Property owners are encouraged to review their 2023 Second Installment Property Tax Bill, now available online. The Cook County Treasurer's Office began mailing paper copies of the bills on July 1, with payments due by August 1, 2024. More info.

Traffic detour notice update
A series of contracted crane lifts will take place at 2225 Ridge Avenue between July 30 and August 6, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., excluding weekend days. During this time, portions of Noyes Street will be closed to vehicle traffic. Learn more.
Independence Park is getting an upgrade!
The City has begun contracted renovations at Independence Park with work anticipated to be completed in October. The project will include a new playground, new pathways, streetscape improvements, and more!
