It is a busy summer, with lots to do!
 7-Year-Old Bernie Allen-Harrah is the winner of Mayor's Redesign Contest, Flag Unveiled
Bernie, a 7-year-old first grader at Dawes Elementary School, was overjoyed to learn that she had won the Mayor's Youth Flag Redesign Contest. Keith Glantz, a graphic designer with Glantz Design, mentored and assisted Bernie in color selection and refining the design of the flag. The newly unveiled flag represents Evanston's love for nature, the beach, and the historic lighthouse.
 Starlight Concert & Movie Series begin this weekend! ✨
The Starlight Concert & Movie Series is here! Concerts and movies take place on the weekends through August 2024.
What do I need to know?
- Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. and Movies begin at 7 p.m., unless otherwise noted on the schedule.
- In the event of rain, concerts will be canceled. The decision to cancel will be made by 4:00 p.m. on the show date. Please check our Facebook page or contact 311 by calling/texting 847-448-4311 (until 6 p.m.).
- Bring your own lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks. Restaurants and/or Food trucks will be available at select concerts.

 Celebrate Pride Month! 🌈
Evanston Pride is hosting the 2024 Car Parade which is taking place on Sunday, June 2 at 1 p.m. At least 50 vehicles will ride through the heart of Evanston with a beginning point at Evanston Township High School. There will also be a candlelight vigil at 7 p.m. at St. Paul (Pride) Park.

Come and join us in the Juneteenth celebration parade! The parade is set to kick off at noon on June 15 from the Robert Crown Community Center. Following the parade, there will be a vibrant celebration at Ingraham Park, featuring an array of music, art, delicious food, and engaging activities for everyone to enjoy. This is an event not to be missed!
 The City's Draft Action Plan, updated with finalized grant amounts, is open for public comment through June 24.
Public comments can be made at a joint committee meeting on June 13 at 7 p.m. or at the City Council meeting on June 24 at 7 p.m. Comments may be submitted in writing before the City Council meeting or in person at the meetings on June 13 and 24. For more information, visit the website.

Summer Reading Begins at Evanston Public Library!
Beginning Saturday, June 1, the Evanston Public Library will be launching its children's summer reading program called "Read, Renew, Repeat." The program will be free throughout the summer, and its purpose is to encourage kids to develop and support a love for reading and to learn more about how they can contribute to conservation efforts.
