 Starlight Concert & Movie Series lineup
First up on the big screen: Mark your calendars for June 1 as we kick off the fun with the movie "Wish" at 7 p.m. in Trahan Park.
 ASPA Month kicks off next week!
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Check out a collection of community events and activities happening throughout the month to honor and celebrate.
"A Brief History of Asian American Racialization": Evanston ASPA is hosting a free virtual presentation on Wed., May 1, at 7 p.m. Ayo Magwood will share stories of American history that often go untold. Register today.
Experience the Umbrella Arts Festival: This year's celebration of Asian American history, culture, and art will take place on Sat., May 11, from noon to 4 p.m., in Fountain Square. Bring the whole family out to enjoy performances, food trucks, and over 50 artists and vendors. More info.
 Guaranteed Income: Project 8092 Kicks off
City Council has approved a second round of Guaranteed Income funding, called "Project 8092". This program will provide eligible Evanston households with direct financial assistance for one year, offering a monthly $500 prepaid debit card to spend freely.
Eligibility requirements: Families must live in Census Tract 8092, have a household income at or below 184% of the Federal Poverty Line, and care for a child aged five or under.
Attend an Information Session: Drop into the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center on Sun., April 28, between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., to learn more.

 The Aging Well Conference returns in May
Celebrate Older Americans Month at the City’s 23rd Aging Well Conference. This year’s celebration includes three events:
Hoops for the Ages: Check out this 3-on-3 basketball tournament for players aged 40 to 90 on Sat., April 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Levy Senior Center and Robert Crown Community Center.
Aging Well Film Night: Featuring a showing of the short documentary "Live at Mister Kelly's", this event will take place on Thurs., May 9 at 6:30 p.m. outside of the Levy Senior Center.
Aging Well Conference: This free, half-day conference for older individuals and their care partners, takes place on Fri., May 17 beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Levy Senior Center. Enjoy an array of educational workshops on topics like nutrition, technology, financial planning, and more!

Apply for property tax exemptions
Exemptions are property tax savings that contribute to lowering a property owner’s tax bill. The deadline for homeowners to apply for property tax exemptions is Mon., April 29. All applicants including new homeowners or first-time applicants, can apply online.

A new music fest is coming to Evanston!

Get excited for the first-ever Evanston Folk Festival at Dawes Park's lakefront on September 7 and 8, hosted by Evanston SPACE. This festival will celebrate the rich folk music tradition, with roots in our Evanston community. The lineup will be announced on April 29. Stay tuned!
