Beginning in May, the City will be contracting localized structural repairs to the exposed concrete surfaces at Sherman Avenue, Church Street, Maple Avenue, and Chicago Avenue Place Garages. These repairs, which are anticipated to be complete in September, are a critical maintenance requirement for all exposed concrete parking structures.
During construction, Sherman Avenue, Church Street, and Maple Avenue Garages will remain open to the public at all times. Construction area parking restrictions within portions of the garages will be intermittent throughout the duration of the project and will be noted with temporary "No Parking" signs posted 48 hours prior to the start of work. Temporary closures at garage entrances are also required but will be staged to allow for continual garage operation. Chicago Avenue Place Garage will be closed for the entire month of July.
Contractor The general contractor for this project is LS Contracting Group, 5660 N. Elston Ave., Chicago, IL 60646.
City Monitoring The City’s Capital Planning and Engineering Bureau will be responsible for monitoring this project. For questions or concerns during construction, please contact Shane Cary, at 3-1-1 or 847-448-4311.
