Mayor Hagerty's Holiday Food & Toy Drive Assists 441 Families in Need

Last Friday, 441 Evanston families received holiday turkeys, customized food baskets and bags of toys as part of Mayor Hagerty's 2017 Holiday Food & Toy Drive. Thank you for your generosity!

Fun in the Sun and Snow: Winter Break and Summer Camps for Your Child

Make the most of your child's winter and summer breaks! Registration is now open for a variety of Winter Break programs, including ecology camps, sports camps, arts camp, and more! 

Planning ahead? Summer Camp guides are now available online and printed copies will be distributed to public and private elementary schools the week of January 15. Summer Camp registration will be available online and in-person at the Levy Senior Center on a first-come, first-served basis on Sat., Feb. 10, from 8 a.m. to noon. No phone registrations will be taken on this date. This process fairly allocates slots in camps that have high demand.

Celebrate the New Year with First Night Evanston on Sun., Dec. 31! The family-friendly event will feature Grammy Award-winning entertainment, live music, poetry, dancing and much more at a variety of indoor venues surrounding Raymond Park. General admission buttons may be purchased online and at locations throughout Evanston at a discounted price of $25 through December 25.

FJT Performs "The Gift of the Magi" this Weekend

"The Gift of the Magi"


Families will love Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre's modern retelling of the original classic, "The Gift of the Magi," by O. Henry. This holiday musical play will be on stage this Fri., Dec. 22 and Sat., Dec. 23, at 7 p.m., at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center.

Local artists and arts organizations are invited to apply for the City’s Cultural Fund Grant Program by Fri., Feb. 9. The Fund supports artistic excellence throughout the community by providing financial assistance to not-for-profit arts organizations and projects.

Holiday Tree Pick-ups 12/26 through 1/26

Tree pick-up

City crews will pick up holiday trees beginning Tues., Dec. 26 through Fri., Jan. 26 on residents' normal refuse collection day. Please place trees on the parkway, in between the street and the sidewalk, and remove all lights and decorations. Do not place trees in plastic bags.
