Citizens' Greener Evanston will host its major Earth Month event on Sun., April 24, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. The theme is “Making Evanston the Most Livable City – For Everyone.” The keynote will be delivered by Veronica Kyle of Faith in Place, an organization dedicated to bringing together religious people of diverse faiths to care for the Earth through education, connection and advocacy.  The City of Evanston announced its support of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan, a critical measure that will protect the safety and economic security of local communities across the United States facing the rising impacts of climate change.
Evanston joins more than 50 other cities and counties from across the nation in signing an amicus brief supporting the measure. The amicus brief was authored by the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia Law School, and filed in federal court on Fri., April 1. More >>>
