ACHD Launches Second Annual Name a Plow Contest
ADA COUNTY — The Ada County Highway District is calling on the community to help personalize its snowplow fleet through the second annual “Name a Plow” contest.
This fun and engaging contest gives residents the chance to come up with creative names for three ACHD snowplows that will hit the roads this winter. A fourth plow will be named by an ACHD employee.
From October 5th through October 12th, residents can submit names on ACHD’s website at achdidaho.org/nameaplow. Once submissions are in, ACHD will narrow the list of names submitted to 100 for voting by the public to ensure the contest runs efficiently. The community will be able to vote on names beginning October 18th through October 25th.
The winning names will be announced after voting is completed. Each person who submits a winning name will receive a $100 gift card.
Submissions are open to Ada County residents over 18 years old. Group submissions are welcome, as long as a contact name is provided. Adults may submit entries on behalf of children.
Submissions should be appropriate and contain under 15 characters. If the same name is submitted multiple times, the first entry will be the one considered. Please note, winning names that were used for last year's snowplows are not eligible for this year's contest.
