Email is Insecure by Default

Did you know that when you send an email to someone, that anybody on the Internet can potentially read it? That’s because email is not encrypted when you send it out. In most cases, this isn’t a problem; GovDelivery sends out billions of email messages every year, and if anyone snooped the contents of the email while it was on the Internet, nobody would care. Just keep that in mind if you ever think about sending a social security number, password, or credit card number.
