We all have a housing story. How can yours help shape Superior?

The Town of Superior's housing story is captured in the recent Housing Needs Assessment, which got staff musing on this little ditty about Jack and Diane...
Jack and Diane are feeling stuck.
Jack and Diane are a couple that live in Superior. Jack works in insurance and earns about $100k per year. Diane has owned a wellness and yoga studio for 10 years and earns about $40k per year. Jack and Diane have lived in Boulder County since college and bought their 4-bedroom home in Rock Creek in 2005 for $360k. They refinanced in 2019 in order to remodel and upgrade their windows.
Jack and Diane still have decent equity but rely on it to help their children pay for college. They have 25 years left on their refinanced mortgage, with a 3.5% interest rate. They can afford these payments currently but are hoping to downsize once their kids have graduated. With high-interest rates and increasing home prices, they are unsure whether they will be able to downsize within Superior.
So, with all that in mind, what advice would you give to Jack and Diane?
The Town's recently completed Housing Needs Assessment provides elected officials, staff and residents with demographic, economic, transportation and housing data to help us understand housing trends in Superior.
Now, the Town is working toward developing its Strategic Housing Action Plan, and we need your help to do so.
After you head to Shape Superior to give Jack and Diane some guidance, make plans to attend one of our Community Open House events!
