On November 8th, the Superior Town Board approved a 2022 budget of over $43.6 million. The Board and this budget continue to actively invest in our community. Over $3.2 million in transportation improvements and $4.9 million in utility system capital improvements are planned in 2022.
The Town continues to hold steady or reduce our property tax rates. 2022 will be the 19th consecutive year Superior has decreased at least one of our property tax rates. In 2022 we are looking at inflationary increases in the monthly monthly trash and recycling fees and sewer service charges. There will be NO increase in monthly water or storm drainage fees. The last water fee increase was in 2017, the last storm draining increase was in 2015. Superior’s residential utility bills remain 13% – 22% lower than our neighboring communities.
The numbers for Boulder County are still high. Please visit the Boulder County’s COVID-19 website to view data and other important information.
During this high transmission stage, masks are required in all indoor spaces. All individuals 2+ are required to wear masks in all indoor settings regardless of vaccination status. Once transmission decreases to moderate or low levels for 21 consecutive days, masks will no longer be required in public indoor spaces. However, individuals may still choose to wear them, and businesses may still implement policies requiring them.
Please continue to do all you can to decrease transmission in our community. Thank you.

Keep It Clean Partnership
Deicer and Shoveling
Protect waterways after winter storms by shoveling snow onto vegetated areas and minimizing the amount of deicer you use at home. Melting snow will carry deicers and other pollutants into storm drains that drain directly to nearby streams. Deicers of any kind will negatively affect the environment in large quantities. If using a deicer, apply it as soon as snowy or icy conditions appear. Deicers help break the bond between ice and pavement to make shoveling easier. They do not evaporate the snow and ice, so adding more does not eliminate the need to shovel.
For more information on how to protect waterways from home, visit keepitcleanpartnership.org
