Following a brief closure to put the finishing touches on some renovations, the Louisville Public Library reopened Wednesday, April 30 with fresh coats of paint and new carpets. The updated colors and materials have been carefully chosen to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for all Library patrons. Come see the updates, grab a good book, and take advantage of all the Library has to offer!

 Save the Date: Fire Station Block Party on June 8
Louisville's Fire Station Block Party is back for the 4th year! Join us from 2–5 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 at Fire Station #1 for a free event that celebrates Louisville's first responders and all they do for our community. Everyone is welcome to join in on the fun! This year's block party will be jam-packed with fun activities, including live music by The Guardians, an arcade bus, carnival games, and caricaturists. Grab a tasty treat from one of our local food trucks, play some games, and boogie to some classic tunes!

After a brief hiatus during the colder months, First Fridays are back in downtown Louisville every first Friday of the month from 6–8 p.m. April through October. Stroll the charming streets of downtown and enjoy a wonderful evening of curated shopping, lovely music, beautiful art, drinks and refreshments.

 New ADU rules on May 20 City Council agenda
At the April 15 City Council meeting, Council requested that staff make some updates to the proposed ordinance allowing accessory dwelling units (ADUs) in Louisville and extended the public hearing to the Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 20.

Branch Recycle Site open Saturday, May 3
Louisville's Branch Recycling Site will be open Saturday, May 3, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The site is available to Louisville residents only (proof of residency will be checked at the gate by City staff). Compost will also be available for pickup during this time. Residents can also make an appointment to drop off branches. Appointments can be scheduled 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday by contacting Parks Operations Administration at 303.335.4776.

May is officially Older Americans Month, and we’re inviting adults age 60+ to join the celebration at the Louisville Recreation & Senior Center on Wednesday, May 21 at 11:45 a.m. Enjoy a delicious fried chicken lunch and uplifting entertainment focused on flipping the script on aging—embracing the joy, strength, and resilience that come with experience. Reservations are required by 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20.
Go solar in Boulder County with Switch Together!
Boulder County and the nonprofit Solar United Neighbors are offering a program called Switch Together to make solar more affordable and accessible. Participants can save an average of $5,135 on a high-quality installation, with additional savings from the 30% federal tax credit. Optional add-ons like battery storage and EV chargers are also available. The program includes free webinars and events to guide you through the process, and all installers are carefully vetted.
