Marina Launch Ramp Reconstruction Project
If you've used the Dillon Marina launch ramp in the last few years, you've probably noticed it's beginning to fail an in need of replacement. At the Regular Council Meeting on February 11, 2025, Dillon Town Council approved a contract with Columbine Hills Construction for the 2025 Marina Boat Ramp Project. The project kicked off on March 24 with the construction of the storm sewer.
The proposed Marina Boat Ramp Reconstruction project will include the following elements:
- Sawcut and remove the existing concrete boat ramp.
- Install a new reinforced concrete pipe storm sewer to redirect the runoff from the end of the storm sewer system to the south of the boat ramp.
- Over-excavate down 32" and haul off existing materials.
- Install separation fabric between existing subgrade materials at the bottom of the excavation and imported road base materials.
- Install 18” of aggregate road base and install an additional layer of separation fabric on top of the road base layer.
- Install 6” section of crushed rock for drainage beneath the concrete slab.
- Install concrete boat ramp with standard 1” V-Notch traction grooving.
- The boat ramp will include a 10’ wide kayak/paddleboard ramp with a smaller ½” v notch groove on the outside of the boat ramp. This will help separate boat traffic from the other users of the lake.
- Install riprap on all sides of the exterior perimeter of the new boat ramp.
