Delta Conservation Incentive Program Workshop: March 26
Farmers can learn about available incentive programs for bird habitat and conservation incentive programs at a workshop 1-3 p.m. Thursday, March 26, on Staten Island.
A variety of programs pay farmers for efforts that aid conservation, such as flooding for migratory birds at key times of the year, stopping subsidence, and converting row crops to bird-friendly rice. There is also an egg salvage program in which California Waterfowl will rescue duck nests from fields before they are disced, mowed, or harvested at no cost to farmers.
The workshop is hosted by the Migratory Bird Conservation Partnership and offers the chance to connect with other key partners, including California Waterfowl and the California Ricelands Waterbird Foundation.
RSVP here or email birds@TNC.org.
